Ode to Melancholy

竟日无聊，闲来阅禅诗两句。此诗大有趣味。

示徒(南台守安)  

南台静坐一炉香，终日凝然万虑忘。
不是息心除妄想，都缘无事可商量。 

信手译成英文，如下。

To My Disciples  (Master Shou'an from the Southern Platform)

Quitetly sitting amid the burning of incense in the Southern Platform,
For the whole day in the meditating eyes, all worldly worries are gone.
No need to clear up my desires,
There's nothing on my mind.

乘月解：世人以佛、禅为精神皈依，大为扫除杂念故，便有“洗心”、“静心”一说。窃以为为修行之最劣层面。
“洗心”、“静心”，皆为内心污秽太多太杂。
真正得道高僧，内心空然无一物。

翻译得不是特别精炼，因为心也不是太静，和大师差的层次太多。
单从语言上说来，没有仔细考虑抑扬格律，采用的是元音韵脚。
请大家给出意见斧正。
